GTM engineering
What is GTM engineering?
Go-to-market engineering is the practice of building outbound as a system instead of a headcount problem.
The old way is to hire people and hope. An SDR to send emails, a marketer to run campaigns, a senior head to set strategy. Each owns a fragment, the tools don’t talk to each other, and no one owns the number.
GTM engineering replaces that with infrastructure. The ICP, the data, the messaging, the sending, the routing, and the reporting are built as one connected machine, tuned with real reply data, and handed to a team that can run it.
Fewer people, more pipeline, and a system that compounds instead of walking out the door when someone quits.
~$60k/yr salary
~$120k/yr salary
Same as a junior, none of the ramp
Can’t — it stalls when something breaks
Directs, but can’t build or fix it themselves
Builds it, runs it, fixes it — pipeline never stops
2–3 months before a single meeting
3–6 months to hire before anything moves
Live in 3 weeks, meetings inside the first month
The system and knowledge walk out the door
Your strategy walks out with them
You own the system; it stays and keeps producing
“A junior can send but not build. A senior can direct but not execute. Hire one and you pay a full salary for half the job. We build the system, run it, fix it, and train your team to close, for what a junior costs.”
